Myth: Children are Resilient

We all want strong kids, however we first need to look at ourselves before dictating how we want our children to behave in stressful situations.

I don't know about you, but I know plenty of adults (including myself) who walk around with all kids of built up childhood trauma. Trauma that was never acknowledged or addressed. This lack of closure prevents adults from overcoming obstacles in relationships and many other areas of their life.

So how can we then say that children are resilient? The truth is they're not. But that doesn't mean that they never can be.

We live in an age now where mental health support and resources are available at our fingertips. There is more dialogue nowadays over social media on practices that help individuals combat mental health suffrage. Many parents seek help through therapists for their children, and although therapy can be beneficial, it can also be expensive and thus, not all children have access to therapy.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) is an excellent tool for children and parents alike. It's a win-win all around as parents will see changes in their child and in turn, children will become more in-tune with their bodies and their emotions.

Check out my YouTube Video below on how BJJ helps build resilient kids. I go into detail about how BJJ allows a child to work independently, figure out solutions to problems, fail, foster self love, and much more!
